Atlas Travel Ranked 22nd Globally by Business Travel News: Travel Weekly “2009 Power List” Also Awards Atlas a Top Spot
July 7, 2009: Milford, Massachusetts – Atlas Travel International recently garnered top honors from Business Travel News and Travel Weekly, two major travel industry publications. These rankings recognize Atlas as a major force in the travel industry and as a growing company.
Business Travel News ranked Atlas number 22 on a list of the Top 43 Travel Management Companies in the United States. The ranking came as a result of BTN's annual Business Travel Survey which measures the performance of suppliers in all corporate travel segments. To be included on this list, the travel agency must book more than half of their sales as business travel. This ranking acknowledges that, despite challenging economic times, Atlas has maintained high business volumes.
Travel Weekly ranked Atlas number 52 on their “2009 Power List,” presented in their June 22 issue. That list measures and recognizes achievements in gross sales volume which are then certified by the company CEO. Atlas noted 2008 achievements such as signing the largest corporate travel customer in the agency's history and expanding its national team of corporate travel agents. Other companies ranked on this list include American Express, Carlson Wagonlit and Expedia.
“We have been working very hard to build the right team and have continued to expand while the trend in the industry has gone in the opposite direction,” said Elaine Osgood, Atlas Travel International's president and CEO. “Receiving an acknowledgement of that hard work is very gratifying and we plan to keep focused on enhancing service and value for our customers, which is what fuels our growth.”
